Apex Legends, like so many other battle royale titles before it, fits into a simple premise: airdrop into an environment, procure your weapons on site and fight your way to be the last one standing. Being built for three-person squads rather than just flying solo, Apex Legends does some smart ideas for dropping in and hitting the ground running. One player in each squad will be designated the Jumpmaster that decides on when and where to drop in order their team to their first landing point. The remaining two members are magnetically locked onto one another but can break off to cover a wider range. Each squad has a randomly selected trail that can be easy to spot on the way down, so you can easily tell on your way down whether it’s going to be a hot drop and rush to grab the first weapon you can find before you get overwhelmed by rival squads.
Fights aren't always fast and aggressive—there are abilities that slow them down and allow for retreats and regroups, offering a bit of breathing room before the next showdown. If things get too hot, Wraith can go invisible for a few seconds and retreat. Pathfinder can create a zipline that spans whole arenas. Gibraltar can pop a dome shield to protect a chokepoint or give the team a second to react when caught in the open.
“There wasn’t any interest from the devs for hosting any events or focusing on anything e-sport related for ‘blackout,’” Liquid player Tanner “Rogue” Trebb said of the decision. “It was mainly just third parties doing things on their own and supporting the scene. The devs never said anything, they hadn’t shown any interest, so when Apex Legends came out, and Respawn came out and said they would support the e-sport scene, most of the competitive ‘blackout’ players switched over.” Best and Cheapest Apex Coins For Sale - Mmocs.com.
Neither Respawn nor Electronic Arts, the game's publisher, have announced plans for an Apex Legends battle pass. But it too would fit with genre conventions--or at least the business model that's proven so lucrative for Epic Games with Fortnite. @RealApexLeaks shared evidence that Apex Legends will show its battle pass on a separate page in the main menu, offer a free version to reward players for remaining active, and of course, reward people who purchase it with exclusive in-game cosmetics.
In the first two weeks of Apex Legends, Respawn revealed that it had already banned more than 16,000 cheaters, in a Reddit post that called for the community to capture proof and report players using cheats. Cheating degrades the overall experience, especially for legitimate players who want to enjoy the Battle Royale shooter. While cheating is not yet as prevalent in Apex Legends as in other games, it is good to know that Respawn is already moving to keep the problem from getting worse.
