Grinding Gear Games explains its schedule for that next few updates, in addition to more info on 4.0.0.
Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile is currently from the midst of the company's Betrayal League, which achieved a whole new record for POE Currency optimum concurrent player count at launch. Development continues on future updates though, and in a current forum post, the developer outlined the updates in the future in 2019. First off is update 3.6.0, that may release in March. Details on this will likely be coming later.
From there we’ll see update 3.7.0 in June, update 3.8.0 in September, rrmprove 3.9.0 in December. “These releases follows the formula we happen to be using during the last few years, introducing challenging league, various expansion features, new character skills/archetypes to experience and multitude of other fixes and standard of living improvements,” the developer said.
